Build your own 24 hour world clock to watch as day and night travel east to west just like our locally illuminating light source, the sun.
The clock pictured above is most accurate during the June equinox, you will have to modify the day and night template for the December equinox if you prefer. It is made using the Gleason's "as it is" New Standard Map of the World. Keep in mind it is a handmade approximation.
It is a prototype for a software version yet to be built, which shall also include the moon and wandering stars as well as the sun travelling north and south between between the tropics each year. The software version will also be more accurate.
You can print the templates below to help make your own. Rotate the map so that your location is set at the midday position.
