The sun is a luminary converting the electromagnetic energy between the firmament and the earth into light, both visible and non-visible. Including Infrared (Long wavelength electromagnetic radiation) and UV light (Short wave electromagnetic radiation). It also creates plasma, one of the four states of matter that comes from charged particles which interacts with magnetic fields.
The heat from the sun comes from Infrared light waves, half of all its energy comes in the form of infrared.
The sun is pure white when viewed through a telescope (Only look at the sun with a solar filter), 40% of the suns energy is visible light.
When you search for images of the sun you get pages and pages of red and yellow furnace like images, these images are taken using filters which show the non-visible light waves of UV and infrared. The others show plasma as a result of the magnetic field. This may give a fire like appearance but it is nothing of the sort.
The sun is close and the same size as the moon, Just as we observe evidenced by Hotspots and Crepuscular Rays
The sun travels between the tropics each year on the inertial plane of the magnetic hypertoroid, and in taking a photo at noon each day you can create an analemma showing the different positions of the sun during the year.
